Aruba - Day 7 - Malmok/Boca Catalina Beach Snorkeling

Image
Today we lazed around the house until about 11:30 or so and walked across the street to do some snorkeling.  We took the camera and snorkeled for about an hour and a half which turns out to be quite a workout.  Saw lots of fish, urchins, another flounder, and some huge angel fish. We came back, showered, and went to The Beach Bar for late lunch and drinks.  We shared a chicken and mozzarella panini sandwich and of course, rum punch.....the staple drink all islands.  It was great fun as at 4pm they had a karaoke system show up and oh boy, the people started showing up to sing.  Another teacher lady named Mary was there and got the crowd going as well as got Nan to get up with a group of them and sing a little Neal Diamond - Sweet Caroline.  Good times and I have pictures :) Dinner was at Tango Argentine Steak.  I had a T-bone and Nan had a Filet.  Food was decent, service was good, and the company I was sharing it with was the best!

Aruba - Day 6 - Snorkeling, Madame Janette's

We slept in a bit, ate breakfast, and went to rent some snorkel gear.  We thought we would just do a little snorkeling off Arashi beach to keep it simple and wanted to take the camera with us to capture some of it.  It was great fun and the underwater case for the camera worked great.  We left Arashi and headed down to the high rise district for lunch and drinks at The Beach Bar.  We had a pizza with tuna and black olives which was tasty.  We left there and hit the beach a bit at Palm Beach for about an hour or so and then headed back to shower for dinner at Madame Janette's.  Dinner was good.  I had the Butcher Block steak, and Nan had Mahi Mahi fish.  The real winner on this one was the appetizer of Lobster Ravioli.  Dessert was fantastic as well with a Coconut Cream Cake.  Of course another great day :) Just a short video of the snorkeling off the beach and playing with some fish.

Aruba - Day 5 - Shopping and Marandi

Image
Breakfast, did some Kenpo, then loaded up to head out for lunch. We went to Salt & Pepper again for some Tuna wrap and Tapas with Sangria, then decided to do some shopping for schmott.  Schmott is a technical term for crap that you really don't need but buy anyway.  We drove around the island some, found the location of our dinner reservation, and headed down to check out Baby Beach.  Neat area with shallow water with a lot of families and kids swimming.  Dinner tonight was at Marandi and it was phenominal.  By far, in my opinion, the best restaurant we have been to yet.  The setting was on a thatch covered dock on the water.  Service and food was very good.  We left there, went back down to shop some more, and headed home around 11pm or so. Another great day
