Aruba - Day 1 - Travel
We got up at 3:30am. Doesn't that kind of say it all haha. We took the shuttle over and got a cheap upgrade to business class seating which was totally worth it. We flew to Orlando then connected to Aruba. Total flight time was about 5 hours or so. We got luggage, thru customs, and got the rental car. With cartoon map in hand (those who have been to islands get this one), we attempted to find our way around. After driving in a circle for quite some time, we found the house and it was just as advertised. Perfect.
We dropped our stuff and headed out for some food as we really hadn't eaten much all day. We found La Petite Cafe but they weren't open until 5pm so we went to a beach bar to burn some time. After a couple of rum punches, it was time to eat. We had potato soup, salad, filet mignon which comes out on a hot stone, baked potato, and topped off with vanilla and chocolate ice cream.
We drove down to the grocery store for some basics and back to house to catch the sunset. A dip in the pool and then we crashed. That 3:30 departure and rum punch had caught up to us.
