Canyon Hike - Queens Garden and Navajo Loop

We awoke this morning to 34 degrees prompting Jerry and I to go looking for firewood.  We came back, got the fire going and proceed to get some breakfast going.  We decided on breakfast burritos of bacon, eggs, cheese, on a tortilla.  After breakfast, we went down, grabbed a trail map, and decided to leave out from Sunset point and do a 3 mile hike down into the canyon doing Queens Garden and Navajo Loop.  The canyon was simply stunning.  We stopped about half way and had some sandwiches we packed then hit the hardest part of the trail which is of course hiking out.  We made it and everyone felt mission was accomplished.  We jumped back in the van and did an 18 mile scenic drive, then dropped by the general store for tourist goodies, 3 bags of ice, and 2 bundles of firewood (you are required to purchase it).  Back to the campground for dinner of tacos and nachos followed by a sunset watch over the canyon.  Another great day.
