Hoover Dam
Today, we got up, ate breakfast at the hotel, and headed out towards Hoover Dam. Quite an impressive piece of history and the tour and information was neat. We were inside the dam, saw the generators, the vent shafts that come out into the middle of the dam and eventually exited on the top with a great view of Lake Mead and the Colorado River. After the tour, we went to the restaurant they have there at the dam and had burgers, chicken strips, hot dogs, etc. We headed back to Vegas, stopping off at Bass Pro to get a part for the camp stove, then back to the hotel to relax and nap if desired. The two adults (Brad and Jerry clear their throats here) might have taken a little nap :) Kids watched TV, and played on the portable devices while internet was plentiful. At about 6:30 we decided to look for an eating establishment that served pasta as Zach and Leam both thought it sounded tasty, so we chose Carmine's Italian which just happened to be close by as well. Pasta of some sort was the main choice by most with an occasional burger thrown in here and there. We left there and headed to the Las Vegas strip to go to the Stratosphere. Our plan was to go to the top and check out the views, and watch people ride the various amusement rides which are up on top. We left there and made it back to the hotel room at about 11:30pm. Another fun day with this crew.
