Flagstaff Area Fun

Jerry and I rose early.  No particular reason why we just had our nap over with.  We decided we would go over, shower and throw in a load of laundry.  We finished up and came back to make pancakes and sausage.  We left out, headed for Flagstaff and our first stop was Wupatki National Monument which had some interesting Pueblo ruins.  After circling thru there we stopped off to see the painter desert, and then Sunset Volcano and the lava flows.  The lava flows were really interesting with their rugged look.

We headed into Flagstaff and looked for a place to eat.  We decided on Salsa Brava which unbeknown to us was visited by Guy Fierri from Food Network.  They had a cool salsa bar and the food was pretty good.

We headed out from Flagstaff to the east and went to the Meteor Crater.  It turned out to be the most interesting I think as they had a lot of interesting information about meteors and the view of the 1 mile diameter crater was quite dramatic, especially when the wind was gusting up to 50 miles per hour.

We left and headed back to camp.  Jerry took the boys to shower as well as do some laundry for them while I got dinner ready of hamburger and hot dogs.  Another great day with some fine young men.
